HPE to provide connectivity for 2027 Ryder Cup in Ireland
HPE will continue as the official technology partner and worldwide supplier for the 2027 Ryder Cup, which will take place at Adare Manor in County Limerick, Ireland.
The company’s work will build on deployments at earlier Ryder Cup events in Paris in 2018, Rome in 2023, and New York in 2025.
Self-driving network across the tournament site
HPE said it will provide the intelligent technology foundation for the digital fan experience, autonomous IT operations, and AI-driven intelligence at the event, scheduled for September 17-19, 2027. Approximately 250,000 spectators are expected to attend as Europe and the United States compete.
The network will be based on HPE’s Self-Driving Network and will provide connectivity for fans, staff, and tournament systems. It will use Wi-Fi 7 across the 230-acre golf course, grandstands, hospitality venues, media compounds, and operations centers.
The network will continuously monitor, adapt, and optimize user experiences in real time. HPE said this approach is intended to help identify and prevent connectivity issues before they occur.
An expanded Connected Intelligence Center (CIC) will provide a unified, real-time view of tournament operations. HPE introduced the CIC at the 2025 Ryder Cup and said the enhanced center will support an agentic enterprise able to “anticipate, adapt and act.”
The CIC is powered by HPE Private Cloud AI and developed by HPE Services. It will securely combine data, AI models, and tools from across the tournament ecosystem, allowing teams to monitor activity, identify emerging issues, and make faster decisions.
Previous Ryder Cup deployments
HPE has provided Wi-Fi connectivity at several Ryder Cup events. At the 2025 tournament in New York, the company deployed:
- 170 CX switches
- 650 Wi-Fi 6E access points
- 25 Aruba Network UXI sensors for measuring network availability and user experience
- 67 AI-enabled video cameras across the course
The New York deployment followed HPE’s work at the 2018 event in Paris and the 2023 tournament in Rome, where the company deployed private 5G and Wi-Fi infrastructure.
Matt Harris, senior vice president and managing director for the UK, Ireland, Middle East, and Africa at HPE, said the Ryder Cup’s operational requirements provide a testing environment for the company’s networking, AI, and cloud technologies.
Michael Cole, chief technology officer at Ryder Cup Europe, said the continued partnership would provide tournament teams with connectivity and operational intelligence for the event at Adare Manor. He also said the technology foundation would support future editions of the tournament.
