BDx Begins Construction of 640MW AI Campus in Jatiluhur, Indonesia

BDx Data Centers has begun construction of its second AI campus, known as CGK4, in Jatiluhur, West Java, Indonesia.

The project is being developed by a joint venture between BDx Data Centers, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, and Lintasarta. The 640MW campus is planned to include six buildings.

The first building, with 120MW of capacity, is expected to enter service in early 2027. It will use a direct-to-chip liquid-cooling architecture designed to support up to 500kW per rack for current and future AI accelerator generations.

The campus is backed by 845MVA of grid capacity. BDx expects to develop CGK4 over three years, commissioning the buildings sequentially as demand for high-density AI capacity increases. The site is approximately five kilometers from the Jatiluhur Dam.

In 2024, BDx secured 1.2GW of power supply agreements across Indonesia with utility PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN). The company described this as the largest power commitment secured by a data center operator in Indonesia.

CGK4 achieved certification under Nvidia's DGX-Ready Colocation Data Center program last year. BDx also completed the first phase of an earlier 500MW CGK4 campus in July 2024. That initial phase provided 70MW and was described by BDx as one of the first Nvidia DGX-Ready data centers in Indonesia.

Mayank Srivastava, chief executive officer of BDx Data Centers, said CGK4 is intended to provide scalable, high-density infrastructure for bringing advanced AI workloads into production in Indonesia.

Agus Hartono Wijaya, chief executive officer of BDx Indonesia, said the project would provide domestic AI infrastructure for local enterprises, government agencies, and developers, while supporting skilled employment and long-term economic activity in West Java.

BDx was founded in 2019 and is headquartered in Singapore. Its data center and edge portfolio covers Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Mainland China, and Taiwan. The company is seeking to expand its Asia-Pacific portfolio to 1GW. It has also secured funding for its first hyperscale data center project in Hong Kong.

BDx began construction of CGK3A in 2023. Located in the TB Simatupang area of South Jakarta, the facility is planned to cover 14,125 square meters (152,000 square feet). The existing CGK3 facility provides 2MW across 1,200 square meters (12,915 square feet) of white space.

The company is also developing the CGK5 data center in Karawang, east of Jakarta. The project is expected to reach 100MW at full buildout, although a completion date has not been announced.
